Weaving under the stringybark shelter in Arnhemland

In this one day workshop, you will be weaving in an outdoor setting with all natural materials.
Learn the basics of yolgnu-style mindirr twining weaving and dyes and weave your own basket out of locally harvested plants.
Your instructors have been taught traditional weaving by indigenous women of Arnhem land. Their Yolngu teaches are very happy for us to share these skills with you.

No previous experience required.

The course starts at 9.00am and all the practice and information you need to complete a basket will be delivered by 12.30pm.
Those wishing to head home at 12.30pm can do so. However although your teachers have to depart,  you may like to stay as a group and weave into the afternoon!

Materials and bush food inspired morning tea supplied.Bring your own lunch.
