PRICE:

Adults: $380 each

Teen attending on own: $320

Child attending with parents 8+ years: $250

Previous attendees who would like to brush up their skills can attend for $280 each.

Price includes camping fees, tuition, materials and dinners Friday and Saturday.

If you are keen to mentor at one of our camps, this course is a pre-requisite.

If you want to remember what you are capable of, hone your skills, learn new ones, mentor at one of our village camps or if you just want to get away and hang out in the bush with some top-quality humans, this is the weekend for you.

Presented by Wildcraft Australia and Wild Beings, this weekend course covers a mix of survival skills, bush crafts and nature connection.

The course covers an array of skills and activities that may one day save your life or at least make life a lot more fun if you found yourself in a tricky situation, or if you were keen to go on ‘Alone’.

On that, SBS season 5 entries are open now – due by 26 April 2026. They are particularly looking for any women who have survival skills – still it would be fabulous to have anyone from this community on the next season. So apply now. https://alonecasting.com.au

Back to the Wild 101:

Accommodation: BYO Camping Gear or let us know in advance if you need to borrow some – we have spare equipment.

This course is for anyone who has an adventurous spirit and an interest in building their capacity to survive and thrive in the outdoors.

Suited to Adults and mature keen students.

Note: We welcome any Children who want to join us as long as they are fairly self-sufficient and keen to participate and learn. We generally find this means they are 8 years or older. Teens 14+ years can participate without their parents if they are mature, responsible and willing to fully participate.

TIMES:

Arrivals from 4pm Friday.

Starts: 6pm Friday

Finish: 3pm Sunday

Fire by friction / Natural shelters / Making rope / Bush Food & Medicine / Finding Water / Navigation / Stars / Art of Camouflage / Stillness / Natural Movement / Tracking / Sit Spots / Wildlife Observation / Ochre Painting / Basket making / Weaving / Awareness Games and Activities / Stealth / The Sacred Hunt / Fishing / Bush Crafts / Songs / Guided Walks / Stories / Cultural Connection

A night activity will run on Friday and Saturday night.
